New and returning students in the El Paso Independent School District can register for the 2016-17 school year online by clicking on the registration banner on the EPISD website.
The online registration system opened last week and will remain open throughout the summer.
EPISD began the first online process for all new students in 2010 and it was intended to streamline registration and make the process easier for parents. Since then, the District has made continuous efforts to improve the online registration experience.
This year, parents registering students who are currently enrolled in the District will find the process to be much easier. Directory and other Information from previous sessions has been saved to help parents save time when registering their children. Also new this year is the ability for parents to upload documents into the student system.
Parents can initiate the process through the Parent Portal. In most cases, parents will be able to register their children for the 2016-17 school year without having to physically set foot on any campus.
Cheryll Felder, director of Parent and Student Services, recommends parents log on to the Parent Portal prior to the end of this school year to ensure all the information is correct and that the information on all of their children appears.
Parents who have forgotten their log in information or do not have all of their EPISD students in the parent portal, can call their child’s school for assistance.
An electronic transfer process also exists for student transfers. Transfer requests also need to be made as soon as possible to give the district time to process before the parent begins the online registration process. Parents can login to the parent portal to request a transfer if the student is currently enrolled in EPISD.
Brand new students may obtain a transfer from the campus or online under Student and Parent Services at www.episd.org.
Parents are also reminded that the registration system works best when using the Google Chrome browser, which also is the preferred web browser to use the Parent Portal.
