El Paso ISD partners with UMC to vaccinate all employees

El Paso Independent School District employees will have a streamlined registration portal to receive the COVID-19 vaccine through University Medical Center thanks to the continued partnership with the hospital.

EPISD employees will register through an internal portal in order to simplify the process. Vaccination is not mandatory but will be available to any employee who wishes to participate.

“As one of the largest employers in El Paso County, vaccinating EPISD employees is a big step in community health,” said Interim Superintendent Vince Sheffield. “We are grateful to UMC for their continued support in the effort to get our employees vaccinated.”

Officials share that the registration portal will open to all employees Monday. Once registered, employees will be contacted by UMC for vaccine appointments, based on vaccine availability.

President Biden last week issued a recommendation to states to place all school employees on the top priority list for vaccines.

The Texas State Department of Health announced last week that it would comply with the recommendation.
