EPISD: Two more COVID-19 cases; EPHS football PPD for 2 weeks
Sunday afternoon, officials with the El Paso Independent School District confirmed that a student and a staff member who had been on campus tested positive for COVID-19.
District officials shared that the student attends El Paso High School and the employee works at Burges High School.
Because of the case at El Paso High, the next two games for the Tigers have been postponed. Officials with the district confirmed this Sunday evening, however there are no dates set for the games to be made up.
“As outlined in EPISD’s School Reopening Guidelines, the District has notified all EPHS and Burges students and personnel who had contact with the infected individuals and must quarantine for 14 days to monitor for symptoms.
Sunday’s announcement caps off a two week span where EPISD has announced a total of fourteen cases across five other campuses in the district.
To abide by federal privacy laws, EPISD will not disclose the name, gender or any other information of the student.
