The new year brings year two of the Southwest’s newest festival, combining film, education and awards.
Chris Hanna, owner of ZGN Productions, and Daniel Valdez, co-founder of Undergrads College Mindset Academy, are gearing up for the second year of El Paso Media Fest.
“El Paso Media Fest is a three-day film festival dedicated to enriching the El Paso community through the international exposure of culture and film,” Hanna shares via a news release.
According to organizers, this festival strives to combine the world of film and education; not only will there be many short and feature films to view and learn from, but also educational panels taught by industry members, networking events and a celebrity panel.
The festival is scheduled to take place on January 16-19, 2020, at the local AMC theater in Northeast El Paso.
Officials share that this year, the festival has over 160 submissions from the United States, Canada, Spain, UK, Mexico, France, Iran, Turkey, Argentina, Korea, Poland, Belgium, Sweden, Australia, China, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Pakistan, Peru, Russia, Sri Lanka and Bulgaria.

Fredric Lehne – Actor and Director (Lost, American Horror Story, Supernatural, X-Files, Dallas, Chicago Fire, Westworld)
Kent Kirkpatrick – Director, Producer, Writer and Actor (Better Call Saul, Last Stand, Midnight Texas)
Julian Bonfiglio – Actor (Better Call Saul, Sicario: Day of the Soldado, Too Old to Die Young, The Girlfriend Experience, Making a Killing, Furthest Witness)
Evan G. Vourazeris – Actor (Ozark)
Chris Aguirre – Artist (Puss in Boots)
Kuno Becker – Actor (Goal! The Dream Begins)
Tickets will be open to both filmmakers and the public, and are available online through EventBrite and at the event during festival hours.
Awards will be given to notable films accepted into the El Paso Media Fest at the awards ceremony, which will be held on the final day of the festival.
