El Paso Municipal Court providing Virtual Court Hearings

Municipal Court officials announced Thursday that they have started conducting hearings virtually, allowing residents to speak remotely with a judge using video conferencing via Microsoft Teams on a laptop, smartphone or tablet.

Persons scheduled for court must email their Full Name, Date of Birth, Citation Number, and Telephone Number to the e-mail provided on their notice at least two (2) business days prior to the scheduled hearing, in order to receive the court link.

Residents scheduled for court at 9600 Dyer must email arr-previrtualhearing@elpasotexas.gov.

“Persons who do not appear for court on their scheduled date will be considered as Fail to Appear (FTA) and an arrest warrant may be issued,” Municipal Court officials added.

Additionally, officials say that residents who do not have the technology or have an impairment preventing them from attending a virtual hearing, are asked to contact the court at least two (2) business days prior to their hearing to schedule an in-person virtual hearing.

Contactless payments can be made online, by mail, by phone at (915) 212-0232 or through a drop box at all Court locations.

“In-person services are still available and the Court continues to follow all COVID-19 recommendations to include mandatory face coverings, physical distancing, temperature checks and 50 percent occupancy,” officials added.
