El Paso Municipal Court resumes in-person hearings next week
El Paso Municipal Court officials announced the return to in-person sessions will start Monday, April 5, with COVID-19 health and safety measures in place to protect visitors and court employees.
“The Court will continue to follow all COVID-19 recommendations, including the use of a face covering, physical distancing, and temperature checks before individuals can enter the building,” officials shared via a news release.
Only residents who have a scheduled hearing or need to resolve violations are encouraged to visit the Municipal Court. A legal guardian or caregiver may accompany juveniles and people with disabilities.
The Municipal Court strongly encourages residents to attend hearings virtually by e-mailing their full name, date of birth, citation number, and telephone number to VideoHearingRequest@elpasotexas.gov at least one (1) business day before the scheduled hearing to receive the session’s link.
Residents must utilize the virtual hearing option if they have:
- traveled internationally,
- tested positive for COVID-19,
- interacted with a person who tested positive for COVID-19,
- been experiencing symptoms similar to COVID-19, or
- been experiencing flu-like symptoms or a fever.
