The City of El Paso is proud to announce that the National Civic League (NCL) and the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading has named El Paso as a finalist for the 2022 All-America City Award (AAC).
The All-America City Award is the nation’s oldest and most prestigious civic recognition award. The City has previously won this prestigious award in 1969, 2010, 2018, 2020 and 2021.
The 2022 AAC award focuses on the theme, “Housing as a Platform to Promote Early School Success and Equitable Learning Recovery.” Presentations will bring finalist communities’ applications to life and present the story of their work to a jury of nationally recognized civic leaders.
The 20 cities named as finalists will make a virtual presentation to a panel of judges in July.
These finalists are being recognized for improving the prospects for early school success and equitable learning recovery, including for children whose families are served by the nation’s public housing agencies and affordable housing organizations.
Each community’s presentation delegation will consist of residents, nonprofit leaders, business representatives, government officials and young people to participate in presentations and workshops over a three-day period.
