El Paso Opera Celebrates Cinco De Mayo with Mozart by Moonlight

On Saturday May 5, El Paso Opera will host Mozart by Moonlight at the McKelligon Canyon Amphitheatre.

Via a news release, El Paso Opera officials share, “Mozart by Moonlight is a concert of arias and ensembles from various Mozart operas…music fans can experience the magical music of Mozart like never before: under the moon and stars!”

The Cinco de Mayo with Mozart Fiesta will run from 5pm-7pm and will feature Mariachi performances plus Mexican food, beer or margaritas available for purchase. This fiesta will take place on the patio at the McKelligon Canyon Amphitheatre and no ticket is required for this event.

The performance will feature highlights of Mozart Operas as sung by their opera quartet, and will also feature a 30 piece orchestra under the direction of Bohuslav Rattay, musical director for El Paso Symphony Orchestra.

The El Paso Opera’s 24th Season is highlighting El Paso’s Desert Gems – those things which make El Paso wonderful and unique.

Opera officials add, “We are excited to feature four such gems in the quartet for our upcoming Mozart by Moonlight and to have such talented musicians come together for this performance.”
