Dowling, a world renowned pianist and an El Paso favorite, is set to perform works during the special Season opening concert by George Gershwin, Frederic Chopin and favorites by Latin American composers.

El Paso Pro-Musica is back. The Chamber Music organization returns to the stage following the global pandemic arts hiatus, with a concert featuring pianist Richard Dowling.

“We are thrilled to return to the UTEP Fox Fine Arts Recital Hall stage and continue to engage the community,” said Zuill Bailey, who is celebrating his 20th year as Artistic Director of the organization. ” This was a very difficult time for all artists and it is a joy for me to once again present my very favorite colleagues to my wonderful city that I call home.”

Dowling will perform on September 3rd at 7:30 p.m at UTEP’s Fox Fine Arts Recital Hall.

The El Paso Pro-Musica “return to the stage,” will include Educational Outreach, Master Classes, Pop- Ups at such places as “The Manor,” at 1011 North Mesa, plus a special appearance by Artistic Director and Grammy Award Winning Cellist Zuill Bailey performing the National Anthem at Southwest University Park for the Chihuahua Home Game on Thursday, September 2.
El Paso Pro-Musica and the UTEP Center for Arts Entrepreneurship engaged the community throughout the pandemic with Virtual Concerts and ZOOM programming for schools, hospitals and in community collaborations including the El Paso Museum of Art, the El Paso Holocaust Museum, Creative Kids and more .
Officials add that socially distanced events continue with  engagement at the Kelly Center for Hunger Relief, El Pasoans Fighting Hunger, the El Paso United Family Resiliency Center and the Ardovino’s Farmers Market for the Saturday local Farmers Market.
The 2021-2022  El Paso Pro-Musica Season will also include performances by New York Cabaret Singer Shelly Watson, Pianist Awadagin Pratt and the annual January Chamber Music Festival, which will include the annual collaboration performance with the El Paso Symphony Orchestra.
