During the month of September, the El Paso Public Library will highlight the many free and low-cost services available to El Paso families which can help improve the cognitive and social development of young children.
As part of the Family Place Library Program, local professionals who serve as resources for parents will emphasize the role of parents as the first teachers of their children.
They will also teach strategies for healthy child development and early literacy.
“We want parents of young children to know that they have the resources to help their children grow, develop and learn without having to spend a lot of money,” said Library Director Dionne Mack.
Mack added, “These workshops will help ensure parents and children learn the basic skills to necessary to succeed.”
The schedule for the workshop series will run fromThursday, September 3, to Thursday, October 1, 2015, from 10:00 to 11:15 a.m. in the auditorium of the Dorris Van Doren Library at 551 Redd Road.
