El Paso Ranks in the Top 10 Best Cities for First-Time Home Buyers
El Paso is among the top cities in the country for first-time home buyers according to a recent article on financial website WalletHub.
The article lists El Paso as the fourth best large city, and 28th overall city for first-time home buyers.
According to WalletHub, the list identifying the most favorable housing markets for first-time home buyers was created by comparing 300 U.S. cities of varying sizes across three key dimensions: affordability, real-estate market, and quality of life.
Last month, U.S. News & World Report also named El Paso among the top 10 places to live in the United States for quality of life.

Obviously, we should rank high in this obscure category. Property values are still very low here compared to other places. Which makes it all the more ridiculous that our property tax rates are so high! Property values also have to be low here due to low wages. New homes cost less because construction workers don’t get paid as much as elsewhere! This, imho, is not really something to be bragging about.
