El Paso Rhinos remind fans: ‘Kraft Hockeyville USA’ voting begins Saturday

El Paso is potentially days away from being named the next Kraft Hockeyville USA city. With a win, El Paso would earn the right to host a pre-season NHL game and receive $150,000 to upgrade the Rhino’s hockey rink.

“The prize money would be used to repair and insulate the rink’s roof so that the facility is better equipped to maintain ice in El Paso’s hot temperatures,” El Paso Rhino officials shared.

In the first round of the competition, fans helped El Paso become the only rink in Texas and the only rink south of Kansas to advance to the final four.

Now, El Pasoans, Texans, and hockey fans everywhere are being asked to rally once more by voting for El Paso at Krafthockeyville.com between 5 am on August 29 and 9 am on August 30. Voting is unlimited, so voters are encouraged to vote as many times as possible.

The 2020 Kraft Hockeyville USA winner will be announced on or around August 30.

The Rhinos will also host a Virtual Voting Party on Facebook on August 29 from 3 to 4 pm where community members can win prizes like a Cinta De Oro lucha libre mask, a one night stay and parking at The Plaza Hotel combined with dinner for two at Ambar, and weekend passes to El Paso Comic Con.

Rhinos officials add that, throughout voting days, fans can also use #ElPasoisHockeyville on Instagram and Twitter to win prizes simply for voting.
