El Paso RivALZ women’s flag football game returning; Organizational meeting set for Aug. 6

Officials with the West Texas Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association announced Tuesday the return of the RivALZ Flag Football Game.

RivALZ is a Women’s Flag Football Game where women are highlighted for their strength and perseverance.

“We are resuming RivALZ games in person this fall and next spring. We are planning every event with the health and safety of our constituents, staff and volunteers as our top priorities. All events will implement safety protocols including physical distancing, masks (where required), hand sanitizing stations and more,” Mike Tipton, events manager with Alzheimer’s Association West Texas Chapter shared.

“We will continue to closely monitor CDC, state and local guidelines to ensure events adhere to recommendations and are safe for attendees.”

Organizers also announced that the game, formerly known as Blondes vs Brunettes, will be more El Paso focused and will be known as the Suns and the Stars going forward.

On August 6th, The El Paso RivALZ will be meeting at 915 Vibes (10780 Pebble Hills Boulevard, Suite B), for the 2021 Recruitment Party. The purpose of the party is to recruit players, volunteers and sponsors. and is a great chance to meet people who believe in the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association: A World Without Alzheimer’s and other Dementias.
