Just last week, El Paso Specialty Hospital and El Paso Specialty Physicians Group welcomed their newest physician, Zachary Lovato, D.O., an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in spine surgery.
Dr. Lovato joins EPSH following completion of his fellowship in adult deformity and spinal reconstruction surgery at the Sonoran Spine Center in Tempe, Arizona. He is excited about joining the EPSH team and serving the community of El Paso.
“Everyone I met on the El Paso Specialty Hospital staff was extremely friendly and I look forward to working with them,” said Lovato. “After seeing the hospital’s amenities, and its workflow from pre-op to post-surgery, I can tell it’s a good, efficiently-run hospital.”
Lovato discovered a passion for health care during an anatomy course in college, which led him to pursue a career in medicine. He received his B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Central Oklahoma and went on to attend Oklahoma State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine where he received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
Following medical school, he completed his orthopedic surgical residency at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. He is licensed by the Texas Medical Board.
Within his specialty, Dr. Lovato focuses on many aspects of orthopedic surgery, from minimally invasive procedures to traditional surgeries, identifying which procedure is best for each patient.
“I like to have a lot of tools in my toolbox so I can use whatever is right for the patient to help them regain their quality of life.”
El Paso Specialty Hospital is a private, physician-owned hospital specializing in Orthopaedic, Urology, Weight Loss, General and Spine surgical care for the greater El Paso region.
