El Pasoans Fighting Hunger implements new hours, distribution process at HQ location
On Sunday, officials with the El Pasoans Fighting Hunger (EPFH) Food Bank announced a change to their food distribution process and their Headquarters location.
“EPFH is implementing a new distribution model at the 9541 Plaza Circle location,” officials shared via a news release. “This new model allows individuals to go through intake and get a ticket to receive food.”
Cars enter the distribution area and park, then clients stand in a short line to turn in their ticket and receive a shopping cart filled with food.
“The process will ensure safety of volunteers/staff due to harsh heat conditions and can facilitate more traffic with less wait time,” officials shared.
Summer hours at the food bank location have also changed and will be from 6am to 3pm, Monday through Saturday.
“We are confident this distribution model will help alleviate long wait times while protecting workers,” EPFH officials added.
