El Pasoans Fighting Hunger recruiting volunteers to serve as AmeriCorps members

Officials with El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank reminded the public that this is the last week to apply, to help serve as AmeriCorps Members and help at the food bank.

El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank and Texas Service Corps Equal Hearts AmeriCorps are recruiting twenty-five individuals to serve as AmeriCorps members at the food bank to assist in reducing community hunger.

Officials add that, in exchange for their service, AmeriCorps Members receive a bi-weekly living allowance and an end-of-term education award.

Fall positions require a 20-35 hour a week commitment. The Service Dates start September 1st, 2021. Service will take place at the food bank, 9541 Plaza Circle.

Requirements: Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:

  •  Available for the entire duration of the program
  •  17 years old or older by program start date
  •  U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  •  Commitment to serve the community
