El Paso’s Collegiate Double T Students take Honors at the HOSA-Future Health Professionals International Leadership Conference

El Paso-area college students representing the El Paso’s Collegiate Double T Health Professions Honor Society earned top spots in the HOSA-Future Health Professionals’ 2020 Virtual International Leadership Conference.

The Double T honor society is a program supported by the Desert Mountain Area Health Education Center, based at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso.

AHEC statewide programs help guide students interested in health care careers by encouraging academic success and developing a pipeline for future health care professionals.

As a regional center of West Texas AHEC, Desert Mountain AHEC serves students in El Paso-area counties.

The highlight of every year for honor society members is the HOSA-Future Health Professionals’ International Leadership Conference. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 conference was held virtually, June 24-27.

In past years, the conference was held in states across the U.S. The conference features competitive events that enable students to demonstrate skills and knowledge in many subjects within the health sciences field.

The following Collegiate Double T honor society members competed and placed in these events:

  • Health Career Photography – 1st Place: Danielle Narimissaei
  • ILC Creative Problem Solving – 2nd Place: Sanaz Zareei
