Endeavors celebrates our heroes with Memorial Day Foundation Ceremony

Endeavors, a national service organization, shared stories from the community of our nation’s heroes during a Memorial Day Foundation Ceremony held on Memorial Day, May 29.

Veterans and their families are asked to share their stories, which will be encased in the foundation of the new Endeavors Veteran Wellness Center (VWC) in El Paso. The Foundation Ceremony will not only serve as a reminder of veteran stories from the past, it will also be a beacon of hope for veterans and their families who turn to Endeavors for help, as no one is alone when experiencing a crisis.

The community is welcome to share stories about veterans, including their sacrifices and contributions to their communities by going to bit.ly/mdstoriesofservice or by posting on social media using the hashtag #StoriesOfService. The ceremony took place at the construction site of the new Endeavors El Paso Veteran Wellness Center, 12135 Pebble Hills Boulevard, scheduled for completion in Winter 2024. The event included a fly-over by El Paso businessman and Vietnam War veteran Mike McNamee and additional pilot Vanessa Martinez

Endeavors is the largest provider of Veteran Supportive Services and Cohen Veteran Network clinics in Texas. It serves Veterans and their families across 111 counties in the state. In 2022, Endeavors purchased 10 acres of land to construct a new Veteran Wellness Center  in El Paso. The facility aims to address the gap in mental health and wellness services for Veterans and their families, regardless of their discharge status, service or family relationship.

Covering an area of 40,000-sq. ft., this will be the second Endeavors VWC in Texas, following the launch of the first in San Antonio. It is strategically positioned between two of the most populous and rapidly growing zip codes in the country, which have the largest Veteran and active-duty populations in El Paso.
