The City of El Paso Environmental Services Department (ESD) encourages residents to get rid of unwanted items during the Pride Day Community Cleanup that takes place from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, at various locations across town.
There will be 20 designated cleanup sites in every part of the city, making it convenient for anyone to participate. Many of the cleanup sites will have a large roll-off trash container (dumpster) that allows residents to dispose of large, bulky items and debris.
Items not accepted in roll-off containers include: tires, household hazardous waste (paint, motor oil, batteries, chemicals, etc.), and e-waste (cell phones, appliances, computers, etc.).
The Pride Day Community cleanup is one of the largest cleanup events of the year. The goal of this large-scale, community-wide effort is to cleanup neighborhoods and create awareness about the effects that littering and illegal dumping have on our environment.
The event also encourages El Pasoans to work together to create a cleaner, healthier and safer El Paso.
