By 2021, there will be 12 million retired grandparents fully engaged in life, in schools, sharing their life experiences with their grandchildren. Our community benefits from their volunteer contributions, and having active, healthy, mentally sharp grandmas and grandpas.
National Grandparents Day is observed on the Sunday after Labor Day. Its purpose is threefold; to honor grandparents for their wisdom and experience; to allow grandparents an opportunity to show their love to their children’s kids; and to make children aware of the great source of knowledge, strength and guidance that can be gained from the over 150,000 age sixty plus seniors in El Paso County.
