The El Paso Community College (EPCC) Criminal Justice Club, in partnership with the U.S. Border Patrol, donated Easter baskets to the children of the Dame La Mano Pregnant and Battered Women’s Shelter in South El Paso.
“The EPCC Criminal Justice Club wants to become a part of something bigger than ourselves,” Louis Barragan, Sr., Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice said. “We endeavor to cultivate, promote, and maintain interest in criminal justice, which we do by engaging in positive activities on the college campus, and through service and benevolent activism in the community.”
Mrs. Arellano, the facility’s manager, and residents were very appreciative of the holiday gifts.
Through EPCC CARES, students, faculty and staff cultivate civic responsibility through community service.
Students can apply newly acquired academic skills and knowledge to address real-life needs in their own communities.
