The El Paso Community College (EPCC) Dental Hygiene Program celebrated its 2020 graduating students with a graduation “parade” on Sunday, August 2, 2020.
Students, faculty, and limited family members were in attendance on top of the EPCC Rio Grande campus parking garage per social distancing practices.
EPCC officials share that the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Dental Hygiene is a two-year program with competitive enrollment.
“Students accepted into the Dental Hygiene program attend classes in biological and dental science, as well as in specialized courses.” officials added.
“This knowledge is then applied in the dental hygiene clinic where students perform dental hygiene services.”
Working collaboratively with dentists, dental hygienists provide oral preventive health and therapeutic services to the public.
The capstone experience for the AAS Degree is DHYG 2363, Clinical-Dental Hygiene/Hygienist IV, National Board and appropriate Clinical Regional and/or State Exams.
