EPCC earns national designation for work with Military and Veterans

El Paso Community College (EPCC) officials announced Wednesday that the college was recognized with a 2021-2022 Military Friendly School Silver designation by VIQTORY.

“EPCC is committed to providing targeted support to veterans, military members and their families including clearing roadblocks to registration, developing clear pathways for degree or program completion, enhancing career exploration and improving networks for course acceptance and transfer,” Dr. William Serrata, EPCC President, said.

Now in its 11th year, the Military Friendly Schools list has come to set the standard for higher education institutions to provide the best opportunities for veterans and their spouses.

EPCC officials share that they serve over 3,000 service members, veterans and their families.

“The college mission is to serve students in the most effective and efficient way possible so they may achieve their educational goals,” officials added.

The Military Friendly Schools list is created each year based on extensive research using public data sources for more than 8,800 schools nationwide, input from student veterans, and responses to the proprietary, data-driven Military Friendly Schools survey from participating institutions.

The 2021-2022 Military Friendly Schools list will be published in the May issue of G.I. Jobs magazine and can be found at www.militaryfriendly.com .
