EPCC, El Paso Sheriff’s Department Team Up to Warm the Community
El Paso Community College (EPCC) students and staff presented 656 blankets to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Department as part of the fifth annual Keep El Pasoans Warm Campaign.
“The El Paso community has always supported EPCC and in turn, we look for ways to pass it on,” Cheryl Bowman, Keep El Pasoans Warm Campaign Chair said.
“The college knows the heart-wrenching situations that Sheriff’s deputies encounter throughout the county when their duties take them into homes in desperate need. By working together, we can do more than we can alone.”
The fifth annual campaign is a partnership between the EPCC Professional Staff Association, Police Department, Service Learning Office, Student Technology Services, Chemistry Club, Fire Tech Academy, Criminal Justice Club and the entire EPCC family.
The Sheriff’s Department will distribute the collected items to those in need throughout El Paso County.
