El Paso Community College (EPCC) held a grand opening celebration for its state-of-the-art Fire Technology Academy Training Facility on Tuesday morning.
During the event, EPCC and area fire department dignitaries attended as current Fire Technology Academy gave life-saving demonstrations.
“The Fire Technology Academy Training Facility is an example of how EPCC provides high-quality and affordable instruction,” Steve Smith, Vice President of Instruction and Workforce Education said. “EPCC is training workers with the skills to sustain and improve quality of life in our region.”
“The students trained at this facility have committed to a career of saving lives and helping individuals in our community stay safe,” Myshie Pagel, Dean of Career and Technology Education.
Since beginning in the 1970s, the program has graduated over 1,000 students adding to the workforce locally, throughout the state and the nation.
