EPCC’s Annual Literary Fiesta set for Today

El Paso Community College (EPCC) will hold the 8th Annual Literary Fiesta on Saturday, November 5, at the EPCC Administrative  Services Center, 9050 Viscount, Building A and will begin at 2:00 p.m.

“Reading allows individuals to explore the world, to improve understanding, and to deepen creativity,” said Janine Rudnick, EPCC Special Assistant to the President.  “The Fiesta strives to raise awareness of literary accomplishments, recognizes those supporting literacy in the community and works to enrich readers of every age.”

The Literary Fiesta will celebrate writers from El Paso and other nearby areas. The fiesta will also include a Children’s Corner with free books for the kids.

Events include:

3:00 – 4:15 p.m.

Performing Free Speech, “Barbed Wire Open Mic Series” with Roberto Santos and

Richie Maruffo. Also, “#IReadYA – Teen Fiction for all Ages” with Patricia B. Tigh.

4:30 – 5:45 p.m.

Meet the Literary Legacy Award Winner with Christine Granados and “#BeCreative –

Turn Your Words and Ideas into Graphic Novels” with Ray Ramos.

6:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Awards Dinner.

Admission to the Literary Fiesta is free and open to the public. The event is sponsored by the EPCC Office of the President, Salute to the Arts, and PaPaGaYo Literary Center. For details, click HERE.
