The El Paso Community Foundation’s Spirit of Giving campaign returns for its 29th year, and it’s never been easier to give to someone in need, as the Spirit of Giving trees are all over town — and online.
The trees are adorned with snowflake tags that represent the stories of people — children, elderly, and disabled — in need. Donors simply pick a tag, buy a gift, wrap it with the tag, and return it to the Spirit of Giving location where it was purchased.
To give on-line, donors can visit the foundation’s virtual tree, click the tag of the story and pay for the gift; the El Paso Community Foundation will ensure that it is delivered.
Donors can also print the tag, purchase the gift, wrap it and deliver it, with the tag, to our office at 333 North Oregon Street on the 2nd Floor. Office hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays through Friday, and the deadline to drop off gifts to our office is Monday, December 18.
Spirit of Giving trees are located at Cielo Vista Mall, Sunland Park Mall, and GECU/GECU Investment Services/Members Trust Company locations — Viscount and Airway; Rojas and Zaragoza; Vista del Sol and Yarbrough; Transmountain and Dyer; and Resler and Helen of Troy.
Drop-off deadline at the GECU/GECU Investment Services/Members Trust locations is 5 p.m. Friday, December 15. It’s Monday, December 18 for Cielo Vista Mall and Wednesday, December 20 for Sunland Park Mall.
More than 55,000 gifts have been distributed since 1989.
The El Paso Community Foundation’s Spirit of Giving is sponsored by Cielo Vista Mall/Simon Malls, Sunland Park Mall, GECU/GECU Investment Services/Members Trust Company, KTSM NewsChannel 9 and iHeartRadio of El Paso.
