EPCSO investigation of Memorial Company results in arrest; Officials asking other victims to come forward

One man is in custody after a month-long investigation into a memorial and monument business and alleged deceptive business practices.

According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, deputies launched an investigation into EMI-USA, Monuments/Bronze Memorial Division, and XL MFG Inc., Memorial Division, after a person contacted them about a headstone they ordered but the never received.

During the course of the investigation, Sheriff’s Office investigators identified 74-year-old Valor Dalano Blazer and his businesses were allegedly involved.

Officials say a search warrant was obtained and, on May 9th, Blazer was located and taken into custody. He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility for Theft of Property, greater or equal to $2,500 but less than $30,000

EPCSO officials add that if anyone has been a victim of Valor Dalano Blazer, and his companies EMI-USA, Monuments/Bronze Memorial Division, and XL MFG Inc., Memorial Division, they are asked to contact the proper authorities.
