El Paso County Sheriff’s Office to Host TPSA Western Regional Public Safety Competition
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Region VIII Academy will be hosting the Texas Public Service Association (TPSA) Western Regional Public Safety Competition, on Saturday, March 19th, 2016.
The event showcases high school students participating in a variety of public safety events related to law enforcement, fire fighting, and corrections. This event allows high school students to apply hands-on skills and tactics learned in the classroom relating to public safety careers.
Sheriff Richard Wiles says, “The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office recognizes the dedication these young men and women have shown for learning and implementing the various public safety skills taught by the Texas Public Service Association. We welcome these students to the Region VIII Academy so that they can showcase their talents during the upcoming TPSA Western Regional Public Safety Competition.”
Additionally, students compete in a variety of academic events demonstrating their knowledge of learned topics, concepts, and theories of public safety.
El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputies and personnel along with members of the El Paso Police Department and Texas Department of Public Safety will be judging the competition.
The TPSA Western Regional Public Safety Competition will take place at the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Region VIII Academy, 12501 Montana Ave. Saturday, March 19th, 2016, beginning at 8:00 a.m.
