EPCSO’s Community Services Section donates back to school supplies
With students at Tornillo Elementary, Fabens Elementary, and Fabens High School returning to in-person learning this school semester, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Community Services Section decided to help the kids with back-to-school donations.
“Back to school is normally accompanied with the need for new school supplies and materials, but this isn’t always the case for some students in El Paso County,” EPCSO shared. “The Sheriff’s Office Community Services Section stepped in to ensure the children kicked off their school semester with the tools they need to succeed.”
Students were identified with the help of school counselors, and deputies assembled 200 back to school totes filled with pencils, pens, color pencils, erasers, markers, highlighters, rulers, and scissors.
“School can already be a stressful environment, especially during the pandemic, the last thing a child should have to worry about is whether or not they will have the school supplies they need,” officials added.
In addition to the school supplies, the Community Services Section also donated Easter eggs, baskets, and goodies for the schools to distribute to the students in preparation for the upcoming Easter holiday.
