EPFD, Animal Services Announce New “Firefighters and Furry Friends” Calendar

El Paso Animal Services and the El Paso Fire Department are excited to announce the availability of the new “Firefighters and Furry Friends” 2019 calendar.

The calendar, which features 26 firefighters and 25 adoptable pets, includes two free adoption vouchers with each purchase. The proceeds from the calendar will help Animal Services continue to provide reduced-fee adoption events throughout the year.

The calendar began as a partnership between the two departments in 2016 to raise awareness of the thousands of lovable pets that come into the Animal Services Center every year, but it also give thanks to the brave men and women that save lives every day.

The calendar project has since expanded to a weekly social media feature titled “EPFD Furry Fridays” that highlights a member of the Fire Department and an adoptable pet from Animal Services.

The calendar was made possible through a collaboration between El Paso Animal Services, the El Paso Fire Department, the International Association of Fire Fighters-Local 51, the City Manager’s Office and the Snaps for Shelters organization.

The community can purchase their copies of the “Firefighters and Furry Friends” calendar for just $10 at the Animal Services Center, at 5001 Fred Wilson, or at the Fire Department Headquarters, at 416 North Stanton (2nd floor).
