EPFD, Department of Health offer Free Medical Services in April

El Paso, Texas – The program “Vaccinations for Health” that teams up the El Paso Fire Department with the El Paso Health Department to provide free influenza and pneumonia vaccines, blood pressure and glucose screenings and colorectal screening kits will start again in April at the following dates and locations.

“This flu season started later than usual, but with lots of momentum and severity,” says Robert Resendes, Health Department Director. “As such, it’s still both prudent and timely to be immunized against this flu season’s viruses. This season’s vaccine has proven to be effective against the predominant strains.”

Remember that the service is FREE to residents of El Paso and Hudspeth County who are 18 and over and do not have medical insurance or are on Medicaid. We are encouraging residents who meet these guidelines to take advantage of the program.

The goal of the program is to increase the wellness of our community who do not have access to these services.

Saturday April 16: Lower Valley Health Fair at Socorro High, 10150 Alameda Ave., 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Thursday April 21: Station 8, 301 E. Robinson Ave., 1-4 p.m.

Tuesday April 26: Station 10, 1801 Montana Ave., 1-4 p.m.

For more information, residents are encouraged to call 3-1-1 or visit www.ephealth.com
