Teachers connected with content or grade level peers earlier this week for curriculum updates and training on new initiatives such as Silverback Learning Solutions and PowerUP.
“These connections will help teachers to provide more focused, challenging classroom experiences for students,” said Assistant Director Staff Development Kathy Seufert. “Our goal is to personalize learning to meet individualized needs.”
Teachers received training at campuses throughout the District, including the more than 90 kindergarten teachers who met at the Mesita Early Childhood Center at Vilas.
“I am happy the District is implementing new goals for teachers to be productive and help the students reach their academic goals,” Hart Elementary School teacher Alicia Mueller said.
Communication and journalism teachers met at the EPISD Professional Development Center for training on Silverback Learning Solutions.
“It goes hand in hand with what I am doing in the class,” Bowie High School journalism teacher Ismael Barraza said. “I am working to move more of the students’ learning content online and having a program like Silverback will really help.”
