Tuesday morning, officials with the El Paso Independent School District confirmed one on-campus and nine off-campus COVID-19 positive cases among students and district personnel.
The on-campus case is an employee at Coronado High School. As outlined in EPISD’s School Reopening Guidelines, the District has notified all Coronado students and personnel who had contact with the infected individual and must quarantine for 14 days to monitor for symptoms.
The nine off-campus cases are six students and two employees, none of whom have had activity on EPISD schools recently.
District officials add that on-campus cases are those individuals who have reported to duty or other activities at any of our campuses or facilities. Off-campus relates to individuals who are connected to the District but remain working or learning remotely and have not had contact with anyone at our schools.
To abide by federal privacy laws, EPISD will not disclose the name, gender or any other information of the student.
