ESD Announces 1st-Ever Earth Day Trash Bin Art Contest

The City of El Paso Environmental Services Department (ESD) is excited to announce its first annual Earth Day Trash Bin Art Contest. The contest will allow you to create an art masterpiece on an unexpected surface – a trash bin!

The competition is open to all El Paso-area adults 18 and older. There is no fee to enter. Interested candidates must submit their artwork renderings and registration packet either via email (artwork must be a scanned PDF document) or deliver to us in-person (see info under Contest Guidelines).

The deadline for mural design submissions is Thursday, March 3, 2016. Incomplete registration packets will not be considered.

ESD’s Earth Day Celebration committee will select 5 contestants and contact them by Thursday, March 10, 2016. Candidates that are selected will be given a trash bin on which to create their artwork, paint and supplies. For more information on the contest, please refer to Contest Guidelines.

Five contestants will be recognized and have their decorated trash bins on display at ESD’s Earth Day Celebration at TI:ME at Montecillo, 4935 N. Mesa, on Saturday, April 23, 2016. Three winners will be selected from the five candidates and will receive trophies at ESD’s Earth Day Celebration.

The deadline for design submissions is Thursday, March 3, 2016.
