Friday afternoon, officials with Fabens ISD announced that the district’s high school would be closed ‘out of an abundance of caution’ until October 23 due to positive cases of Covid-19.
Below is the district’s news release:
Out of an abundance of caution, Fabens High School will remain closed for on- campus instruction for ten school days – October 12-16 and October 19-23, 2020, due to positive cases of COVID-19 and contact tracing among staff.
All FHS students will log-in to their classes remotely during this time. The district is monitoring COVID-19 numbers closely.
Students who have already been attending in person may return on Monday, October 26, 2020, unless the data warrant further closure. Fabens ISD administration asks all staff and students to please continue to abide by the County Health Department guidelines on social distancing, wearing face masks and limiting group gatherings outside of school.
