Lone Star Rising, Texas Democrats’ robust candidate and county chair recruitment, training and resourcing program, debuted a successful first training this past Saturday in Austin with more than 100 county chairs in attendance.
Along with the Texas Democratic County Chairs Association, Texas Democrats trained county chairs on critical tools and information needed to win victories in their respective counties, such as: primary election administration resources and support, VAN training, voter contact tools, grassroots fundraising, and relational organizing.
Following the success of Lone Star Rising’s first county chair training, Texas Democrats are proud to announce new training dates and locations with more events to come:
October 14, 2023, Southern Gulf Coast Democratic Candidate Recruitment Summit (Corpus Christi)
October 14, 2023, Pro-Choice Women Candidate and Campaign Staff Training (Austin)
October 21, 2023, Southeast Texas Democratic Candidate Recruitment Summit (Conroe)
November 15, 2023, Asian American and Pacific Islander Democratic Candidate Recruitment Event (Virtual on Zoom)
Texas Democratic Party Chairman Gilberto Hinojosa issued the following statement:
“In alliance with the Texas Democratic County Chair Association and through our Lone Star Rising program, our team launched the first county chair training of the 2024 election cycle. With 100 attendees from across the state – and the great success of this training launch – we’re excited to hit the road so that each county chair in each region has the training and resources they need to achieve victories up and down the ballot next November.
“There are no off years – and when our local Democratic leaders and candidates are trained up on the most up-to-date laws, technologies, and information,, our statewide infrastructure only grows stronger for election cycles to come. Our Democratic county chairs are fired up and ready to pound the pavement so that we can defeat Ted Cruz, elect local and statewide Democrats, and send Joe Biden back to the White House. And while the corrupt Republican Party of Texas is busy putting out their dumpster fires, we’ll continue to remain focused on growing our party infrastructure so that Texas is no longer subjected to GOP-led, backwards leadership.”
