Free Spay/Neuter Vouchers Available for Low-Income Residents

The Department of Animal Services has received 100 vouchers for free spay/neuter procedures and is looking to help low-income families with pets in need of these services.

Residents interested in the voucher program must have a government issued ID and will need to show proof of enrollment in a financial assistance program (WIC, CHIP, SNAP, MEDICAID, or MEDICARE) or Social Security Income/Unemployment letter in order to qualify.

If a participant is approved, recipients will have to use the voucher within ten working days at any of the 2 designated sites listed below.

Department of Animal Services, Socorro Clinic located at 9060 Socorro Rd.

The Spay & Neuter Clinics of Texas, Dr. Snyder, located at 1160 Airway Blvd. Suite C1

If a voucher is not used in the allotted time, it will be voided and awarded to another household. The available vouchers are funded through state grant dollars.

The vouchers are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and can be picked up Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Animal Services Shelter located at 5001 Fred Wilson Avenue.
