Gallery+Story: UTEP Softball Falls to NM State

LAS CRUCES – The UTEP softball team (7-10) fell to NM State (2-6), 19-3, Wednesday night at the NM State Softball Complex in the Battle of I-10.

NM State took a quick 12-0 lead after two innings.

The Miners landed on the board in the top of the third on a Kaylin Jackson three-run home run, plating Autumn Scott and Pate Cathey after Scott singled to the shortstop and Cathey got on base on a hit by pitch.

The Aggies posted seven more runs to end the game in a 19-3 run-rule.

The Miners will host Incarnate Word in a three-game series starting with a doubleheader on Saturday (Mar. 5) at 4/6 p.m. MT and single game on Sunday (Mar. 6) at 12 p.m. MT at the Helen of Troy Softball Complex.
