The Game of Thrones series has been a huge success for HBO. In Season 7 they surpassed the Sopranos in audience size. It is an adaption of George R.R. Martin’s books.
So far, George and the show runners have had no problems killing of prominent and well liked characters… sometimes they kill off large groups at a time (Red Wedding). The one thing we’ve learned from Game of Thrones is you shouldn’t get attached to any character cuz they might be dead next episode.
Game of Thrones Season 8 will be the last season for the series. They have a lot of story-lines that need to be resolved. Even with all the deaths there are still plenty of compelling characters left. We finally see Jon, Arya, and Sansa re-united in Winterfell, Daenerys sets foot in Westeros, the Hound and the Mountain get to square off, Tyrion faces Cersei, Bran becomes the 3 eyed raven, Euron Greyjoy resurfaces, and we get to see more of Gendry.
The cast has said in interviews that season 8 will be the bloodiest and most heart wrenching. Lots of killing, betrayal, and treachery. Gwendolyn Christie (Brienne of Tarth) said after watching the season finale people will need to get therapy.
Game of Thrones has been a great series so far and I am happy to see them go out on top. What are you looking forward to in Season 8? Let us know in the comments.
