Students registered to attend San Elizario ISD’s Alarcon Elementary School will be getting a special gift, thanks to GECU and Texas State Senator Cesar Blanco.
Officials stress that students must be registered to attend Alarcon and must present in person in order to receive their backpack.
“We are excited to work with your school and district!” Linda Nunez, the Assistant Program Coordinator for Community Development, added.
San Eli ISD officials share that GECU’s Community Development Office works with GECU employees and local sponsors to collect donations like backpacks and school supplies in order to make events like these fruitful for students.
GECU employees sign up to volunteer to assist in the distribution process.
Students in grades 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade who are registered to attend Alarcon Elementary School will begin the year with a backpack and school supplies.
The event will be July 24th, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Alarcon Elementary School located at 12501 Socorro Road.
