Video+Story: Geek-A-Palooza Set for Friday

Friday is almost upon us, and if you are looking for something to do, I’ve got an idea for you. Why not make your way out to Geek-A Palooza this Friday night from 6 pm to 11 pm.

You read that right: Geek-A-Palooza. Kaleidoscope Art Space puts on a monthly event, and this time around it’s one that I know I am going to enjoy.

So, just what is Geek-A-Palooza? I was able to sit down with Nikki Gonzalez of Kaleidoscope, and she told me all about it. “We have a Cosplay contest, we have a gaming contest,” said Nikki. “It’s also going to be the one-year anniversary of the sushi truck we work with, Sushi on Wheels.”

Geek-A-Palooza is a little bit of everything. If you are into comics, they have you covered. If you are into anime, they’ve got that covered as well.

“It’s a mini-everything con,” says Nikki. “It’s open to every fandom, comics, Harry Potter, Star Wars, horror.”

You’ll even have a chance to meet Joe Lujan; an El Paso raised comic book artist, writer and movie director. In fact, his movie Immortal Wars hits store shelves July 3 rd .

“It’s a really amazing event,” says Nikki of Geek-A-Palooza. “We try to make it easy for everyone to enjoy the arts in our community.”

Geek-A-Palooza, like all their events, are free, and family friendly.

Why not take some time this Friday to stop by? Geek-A-Palooza will be at the MKL (Mobile Kitchen Lot) at 9715 Montana Avenue from 6 pm to 11 pm. You can get more information on their Facebook Events page
