Go10/TxDoT Schedules 26-hour Closure to Start 3am Sunday

On Sunday, August 20 – for a 26-hour period (3 am to 6 am the next morning) – crews will place 21 massive beams at Sunland & I‐10. The 26-hour closure and detour will repeat for the next three nights (9 pm to 6 am)  on Aug. 21-23.

The additional three nights is to allow crews to place 15 more beams, for a total of 36 beams in 1 day and 3 nights.  It’s a schedule (weather permitting), in an effort to minimize impact on the traveling public.

Crews had been looking at seven days to complete the enormous task of moving and placing 36, 110-foot-long beams atop bridge columns. When it’s finished, the project will be closer to having an all-new Sunland Park Flyover Ramp.

Drivers also need to keep in mind that crews may start closing ramps a half-hour before the scheduled closure time.  For more information about these and future closures, visit Go10 Website.
