Go10, TxDoT Closures for Week of September 18
Go10 officials released the construction schedule for the upcoming week, with one, week-long change within the construction zone.
I-10 East between Mesa and Executive will be reduced to 2 lanes during the day all week. Officials with Go10 suggest that motorist “Consider implementing some of your commuting tools to help breakup the gridlock:” and offer the following suggestions:
- Stagger your commute times to reduce the impact of rush hours.
- Avoid driving during rush hours altogether if you can.
- Carpool or take Sun Metro – even if just once a week – to reduce the number of vehicles on the road.
- Know the alternate routes, like Transmountain Road (Loop 375), Mesa Street (SH 20), Paisano Drive (US 85), Doniphan Drive.
- Before getting on the road, check news reports, I-10 traffic cams or a traffic app to find the best route.
- Work remotely if you can.
- If you get caught in a traffic jam, pull off the road and patronize a nearby business.
During the night, drivers will need to pay attention, as I-10 West at Sunland and I-10 East at Redd will close while crews continue building bridges.
