The El Paso Chihuahuas scored in each of the final three innings Wednesday but did not catch Fresno in the Grizzlies’ 10-8 win. The two teams split the four-game series.
The Chihuahuas scored three times in the first on a sacrifice fly by Austin Hedges and a two-run home run by Hector Sanchez. Hedges has 10 RBIs in his last seven games, while Sanchez has hit 13 home runs in only 38 games with El Paso.
Nick Torres continued his hot hitting in the loss, going 2-for-5 with a double. Torres has reached base in 11 of his last 19 plate appearances. Hunter Renfroe pinch ran in the bottom of the ninth inning, appearing in a game for the first time since August 6 vs. Tacoma. Carlos Asuaje went 3-for-5 with three runs scored.
The Chihuahuas do not play on Thursday.
