Friends, Family and Community Rally to Help Couple Injured in Post-Wedding Wreck

After a horrific accident near Marfa last month, friends of the couple injured in the wreck are hoping to make the long road to recovery a little bit easier them.

Friends of Alberto “Beto” Halpern and Alexandra Annello are hosting a fundraiser including a silent auction and all-vinyl record DJ at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 21, 2017, at Tin Man Filling Station located in TI:ME at Montecillo, 4952 North Mesa Street in West El Paso.

Halpern and Annello were celebrating their wedding in Marfa when the accident occurred, only days after the wedding ceremony. Halpern has since spent his first month of marriage in intensive care.

Organizers suggest guests make a $5 donation at the door to help with medical expenses. Guests will also have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction including local artwork, nights in Faxonia and El Cosmico, and other great items. Tin Man Filling Station will also donate all the proceeds from select taps.

For those who cannot attend but would like to help, a medical fund account has been set up at the Marfa National Bank, 301 Highland Street, Marfa, TX 79843. Donations can be made to The Alberto Halpern Medical Fund, account #1113656.
