One local schools donates much needed Personal Protective Equipment to local law enforcement, and it was all printed by students.

On Tuesday, April 14, 2020,  the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office received a donation of 56 face shields from Harmony Public Schools.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, students, teachers, and parents wanted to lend a helping hand to first responders, using a 3-D printer to create the face shields.

With the 3-D printer, students produced the headband portion of the shield. Over the span of 15 hours, students were able to produce nine headpieces for donation.

According to EPCSO officials, the project is ongoing, and students will continue to donate masks for Sheriff’s Office personnel and and other healthcare providers.
