History! Chihuahuas’ Urias Crushes 3 HRs en route to 10-6 win over Las Vegas

Luis Urias hit three home runs in the El Paso Chihuahuas’ 10-6 win over the Las Vegas Aviators Sunday afternoon.

It was the first three-homer game by an individual player in Chihuahuas’ history. The three longballs came in the first four innings and he followed them up with two walks and a strikeout.

El Paso hit 21 home runs in the series, three shy of the Pacific Coast League record. The Chihuahuas and Aviators combined for 34 homers in the series, four shy of the PCL record. El Paso has had nine multi-homer games by individual players since April 16.

El Paso scored twice in the first inning Sunday, their eighth straight game in which they’ve scored in the first frame.

The Chihuahuas have won 15 of their last 16 games and nine in a row overall, one victory away from tying the team record for consecutive wins.

El Paso is now 7-0 in day games this season.

Next Game: Monday, 7:35 pm at Chukchansi Park. El Paso LHP Jerry Keel (3-0, 4.39) vs. Fresno RHP Paolo Espino (2-1, 6.86). The game will air on 600 ESPN El Paso and www.epchihuahuas.com.
