The El Paso Rhinos are battling to take over first place in the Mid-Western Division of the Western States Hockey League as they head into the final weekend of regular season play.
The Rhinos will take on division leader Springfield Express in a three-game home series at the El Paso County Coliseum Events Center, 4100 E. Paisano. The games are set for 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, March 3-4, and 4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 5.
El Paso, 35-11, is in second place in the division, with only one game separating the top three teams – the first place Express (36-12) and the Oklahoma City Blazers (35-12) in third. The Rhinos will once again look to the solid play of standout forwards Chaseton Sare, with 41 goals and 97 points, and Alex Johanson with 40 goals and 85 points.
Springfield will rely on forward Gabe Lubwele and his 35 goals and 74 points. All three players are among the top 10 scorers in the WSHL.
Tickets are $5 for general admission, $7 for Black Section, $10 for Grey Section, $15 for Orange Section, $25 for Glass Section, $30 for Balcony and free for military with ID.
