Hospitals of Providence East Campus officials announced Thursday afternoon their expansion of services in East El Paso with the opening of its new Cardiac Rehabilitation Outpatient Clinic.
“We are excited to be expanding services for our cardiac patients of East El Paso,” said Monica Vargas-Mahar, chief executive officer for The Hospitals of Providence East Campus.
“It’s important that our patients have the care they need close to home,” Vargas-Mahar added.
The new Cardiac Rehabilitation Outpatient Clinic will provide patients in East El Paso with close cardiac rehab services geared towards patients recovering from cardiovascular conditions and procedures, such as heart attacks, coronary artery bypass surgeries or coronary procedures.
The outpatient clinic will offer a comprehensive team of physicians, nurses, exercise physiologists and nutritionists working closely to help patients reduce cardiac risk factors, limiting the progression of cardiovascular disease and helping to improve and maintain physical function.
The cardiac rehabilitation program is specially designed for patients to regain their strength through exercises and education.
